Project Showcase: Custom Fountain Display

Sometimes a street corner is just a corner. Other times, it is AWESOME.

Good Earth Water Gardens recently worked with homeowners who live on a busy stretch of Metcalf Avenue in Overland Park, Kansas. The corner of their property was home to some shrubs, but they envisioned more. So we set out to design a water feature to stop traffic.

Sometimes a fountain is more than a fountain

The goal of this project was to create a custom fountainscape with a sizeable viewing area. As in, stunning views of running water from 360 degrees. With vistas from the busy street, the corner and the front porch, this was a curb-appeal project for everyone.

First up, we removed the shrubs. Then, it was time for a big hole and our trusty Aquablox reservoir system. We added three stacked urn fountains – some in parts, others customized – and build a berm. And then? Magic.

A stunning fountainscape

These homeowners gave us general direction, but our team wasn’t tied to a concrete design. That allowed us to improvise when we determined that we needed just a touch more pizazz. See how this fountain display came together.

The result is a multi-level fountainscape that features boulders and natural wood accents. With colorful plantings and stunning lighting, these fountains are now a landmark in this beautiful neighborhood.
